Our AchievementsOur AchievementsOur AchievementsThe CILS (Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language), developed and produced by the CILS Center of the University for Foreigners of Siena, is a qualification officially recognized by the Italian Government that attests to the degree of linguistic-communicative competence in Italian as L2 or LS.

The CILS Certification assesses this competence using the six levels of linguistic-communicative competence proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) of the Council of Europe. The CILS Centre is an institutional member of the EALTA (European Language Testing Association) and an affiliated member of the ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe). They are two associations that aim to promote knowledge of language testing and evaluation practices in Europe.

In 2009, our school, after obtaining official recognition of the CILS title from the YOK, became the official seat in Turkey for the administration of that title.
