At the University for Foreigners of Siena, Rector Tomaso Montanari has decreed the suspension of teaching activities on 10 April 2024, as a sign of solidarity for the day of ‘Id al-Fitr,’ the great Muslim holiday marking the end of Ramadan.

“One of our legal tasks is to promote multiculturalism, where identity is about meeting rather than closure, and to contribute to peaceful coexistence among peoples. This task seems particularly urgent today.”

This gesture is intended to draw attention to the oppression faced by the Palestinian people and to show solidarity with them.
